give you addresses of contacts in your country and will allow you to set parameters
for your research agents depending on your interests: scientific and technological
information, current news about research centers, press releases, cultural
French events in foreign countries. You will also be able to communicate
with other post-doctoral guests who are in the process or have finished a
long scientific stay in France.

Who are we?
The French Ministry of Foreign
Affairs asked the Agency
for the Distribution of Technological Information (ADIT) to elaborate
this Web site specially dedicated to the foreign researchers invited in France.
France Contact was realized in close collaboration with the national Foundation Alfred
Kastler (FnAK). France Contact is completely dedicated to the personalized
follow-up of every foreign researcher who registers, whatever his status,
discipline or nationality. This site allows not only to facilitate scientific
mobility towards France but also to allow the researchers who are already
back in their countries of origin to participate in the French actions of
cooperation or scientific and technological development.
France Contact also allows the host institutions to provide their
researchers with information about their activities, wether practical information
or scientific and technological information, or cultural and leisure activities.

An editorial committee watches to regularly update the contents
of France Contact. Of course, you are welcome to participate in this update
by indicating us useful links with other Web sites, financial supports to
come to France, scientific technological or cultural events, conferences and

The Fondation Alfred Kastler (FnAK)
The objective of the Alfred Kastler
Foundation is to improve the planning and stay of invited post-doctoral researchers
in France, and to keep in contact with them after they return to their own
country.
The Kastler Foundation is headquartered in Strasbourg. It
was created by the French Academy of Sciences, with the support of several
Ministries and surrounding Alsatian communities.
The Agency for the Dissemination of Technological
Information (Agence pour la Diffusion de l'Information Technologique, ADIT) is a public institution. Its mission is to collect, analyze
and distribute international scientific and technological news in order to
aid in the development of French companies. ADIT is industrial and commercial
in nature under the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of Ministry in charge of
Research.
